Your article was okay but it was way too short and hardly provided the amount of depth required to get people to really interested in the idea. This topic has been repeated several times before and there is nothing special with your rendition.
I think that the oppotunity to do weekly guest posting there is a great chance to build up a strong reputation for yourself. So try to focus on more thought provoking concepts and longer articles. If you can think of a solid article idea and then back it up with many strong points then you wil be a winner.
